I have returned from a very short trip to Patna, Bihar, India (where my family is from). While there, I had been busy with a family wedding and also shooting film footage for my upcoming mini-documentary.
I wanted to let you guys know that I've decided to make a mini-documentary, which is a mix of a personal memoir and documentary. It's yet untitled, but it's basically about my identity as a Deaf Indian, and about meeting other Deaf Indians, both in Patna, India and in the U.S.A.
I want to explore the aspects of audism, racism, xenophobia, deaf pride, Indian pride, and the mixing of two cultures / two worlds in our everyday lives.
So, I've shot a lot of footage in India, and I still have some more work to do here in USA.
I'm very excited to be working on this mini-doc, and I hope you guys will look forward to this when it comes out in a few months!
